Lister Boleseng is one of Botswana’s music legends who has undeniable talent. His love for music started developing at the tender age of 6 (that was in 1970). Later in life, took advantage of an opportunity to study abroad, playing the saxophone and studying music. He and the saxophone became one, and has since been making magic. Lister has performed with the likes of Hugh Masekela, and drawn inspiration from legends such as John Selolwane.
Moratiso, the title of the album, is a Setswana word which normally means a love potion, but Lister conveys it to mean “the type of affection towards someone or something that one cannot just ignore”. This has proven to be one of Lister Boleseng’s best works, following his 1st album Life’s a journey which was released almost a decade ago. The songs, inspired by his lovely wife, talk about love. Listeners are expected to be fixated right from the very first song.
The album comprises of 8 splendid songs including Ke swa hela, Malaika featuring the talented Samantha Mogwe and Sebouledi , to name a few. He got to refine the famous traditional song, Mma Mmati and we can assure you that its nothing short of amazing. The album redefines quality.
